THE TOWN OF WESTBORO RECENTLY HELD A SESSION AT THE LIBRARY TO DISCUSS THE PLANS FOR REDEVELOPING THE WESTBORO STATE HOSPITAL PROPERTY. IT HAS BEEN UNDER THE TOWNS CONTROL SINCE 2014 AND HAS BEEN VACANT FOR SOME TIME. IT OPENED IN 1884 AS AN INSANE ASYLUM. THE NEW PROPOSAL WOULD INCLUDE HAVING 36 OF THE 95 ACRES POTENTIALLY DEVELOPED INTO OVER 55 HOUSING. THE REMAINING LAND WOULD BE SET ASIDE FOR USE BY THE TOWN AND EXISTING PLAYING FIELDS AND TRAILS WOULD REMAIN INTACT. RESIDENTS WILL GET TO VOTE ON THE PLAN AT THE SPRING TOWN MEETING AT 1PM ON MARCH 12TH.
MARLBORO SAVINGS BANKS NEW BRANCH AT 186 MAIN STREET IN HUDSON IS MOVING FORWARD. THEY OFFICIALLY BROKE GROUND ON THE PROJECT IN JANUARY AND PLAN TO BE OPEN IN JUNE. FIRST BRISTOL COMPANY IS HANDLING THE BUILDING DEVELOPMENT AND SOLIDUS IS IN CHARGE OF THE INTERIOR DESIGN. THE BANK IS REACHING OUT TO THEIR NEW NEIGHBORS IN HUDSON BY PROFILING LOCAL BUSINESSES ON THEIR WEBSITE.
AMAZING THINGS ART CENTER OF FRAMINGHAM HAS BEEN NAMED A FINALIST IN THE BOSTON UNCOMMON AWARDS CONTEST. SPONSORED BY CAPITAL ONE, THE GOAL IS TO FIND WHAT IS UNCOMMONLY THE BEST ABOUT BOSTON AND SURROUNDING AREA. THE ART CENTER IS THE ONLY METROWEST NOMINEE THIS YEAR.
