WORK IS PROGRESSING ON THE 153-ROOM HILTON GARDEN INN BEING BUILT IN MARLBORO AT THE FORMER HEWLETT-PACKARD CAMPUS. THE MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT WILL HAVE A CAMPUS FEEL WITH DAY CARE AND RETAIL FACILITIES, IN ADDITION TO AVALON APARTMENTS, THE HOTEL AND OFFICE SPACE. THE HOTEL PLANS TO OPEN IN MAY OF 2016 AND WILL INCLUDE A RESTAURANT, A POOL, A GYM AND MEETING ROOMS.

CONGRATULATIONS GO OUT TO MIDDLESEX SAVINGS BANK. FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, THEY HAVE EARNED THE LENDER OF THE YEAR TO NEW BUSINESS AWARD FROM THE MASSACHUSETTS OFFICE OF THE U.S. SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.
WHILE SEVERAL FINANCIAL COMPANIES AND INDIVIDUALS WERE CHOSEN FOR AWARDS, THE NATICK BASED BANK IS THE ONLY ONE IN THE METROWEST TO BE HONORED. MIDDLESEX CURRENTLY HAS THIRTY LOCATIONS AND RECOGNIZES THE IMPORTANCE OF WORKING WITH BUSINESSES OF ALL SIZES IN THE COMMUNITIES THEY SERVE.

CONGRATULATIONS ARE ALSO IN ORDER FOR THE WINNERS OF THE 2015 BUSINESS LEADERSHIP AWARDS FROM THE METROWEST CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. THE AWARDS WERE PRESENTED DURING THE 120TH ANNUAL MEETING GALA AT THE SHERATON FRAMINGHAM. THIS YEARS THEME OF OUR STORIES ARE WRITTEN IN THE STARS PLACED AN EMPHASIS ON MOVING FORWARD INTO THE FUTURE WHILE HONORING THE PAST. JEN MASEDA OF UNITED WAY OF TRI COUNTY WAS CHOSEN AS EMERGING LEADER OF THE YEAR AND JOHN LAWRENCE OF PEPPERS CATERING WAS VOTED BUSINESS LEADER FOR 2015. DOCTORS EXPRESS WON FOR SMALL BUSINESS AND THE NON PROFIT OF THE YEAR WAS AWARDED TO VETERNS, INC. OVER 300 PEOPLE ENJOYED HONORING THE NOMINEES AND THE OUTGOING AND INCOMING BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THE HARDWORKING CHAMBER STAFF.

THE UNITED WAY OF TRI COUNTY IS HOLDING ITS ANNUAL FEED A FAMILY FOR FIFTY DRIVE. WITH A DONATION OF FIFTY DOLLARS THEY CAN PROVIDE A COMPLETE THANKSGIVING MEAL OR SEVEN BAGS OF GROCERIES TO A FAMILY IN NEED. THE GOAL IS TO HELP FIFTEEN HUNDRED PEOPLE. ALL OF THE FOOD WILL BE DISTRIBUTED AT THE PEARL STREET CUPBOARD AND CAF IN FRAMINGHAM BETWEEN NINE AND NOON ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 24TH.
